Marlyn Hoksbergen

Mrs. Marlyn Hoksbergen is a highly experienced Taekwondo instructor at Triumph Martial Arts in Pella, Iowa. She holds the rank of 4th Degree Black Belt in Songahm Taekwondo and is an ATA Martial Arts Certified Instructor and Level 3 ATA Chief Tournament Judge.

In addition to her extensive Taekwondo training, Mrs. Hoksbergen is certified as a SHARP Self-Defense instructor and a Spontaneous Knife Defense instructor. Her knowledge and experience allow her to help students develop confidence, focus, discipline, and practical self-defense skills.

Mrs. Hoksbergen began training in Taekwondo in 1999 and joined Triumph Martial Arts in 2003 as one of the school’s original instructors. Throughout her years with Triumph, she has taught children, teens, and adults at the Pella, Newton, and Pleasant Hill locations. Her dedication to martial arts instruction has allowed her to positively impact thousands of students and families.

As a former martial arts tournament competitor, Mrs. Hoksbergen earned several ATA State and District Championship titles. She also qualified for the prestigious ATA Tournament of Champions twice, earning Top Ten honors in multiple events.

Outside the martial arts school, Mrs. Hoksbergen serves the Pella community as a supervising nurse at Pella Regional Health Center. Her commitment to helping others is evident in both her professional career and her work as an instructor at Triumph Martial Arts.

Fun Fact: Mrs. Hoksbergen has been married for more than 40 years and is the proud grandmother of five grandchildren, three girls and two boys. She is also an avid outdoorswoman who enjoys camping, kayaking, and hiking. Her kayaking adventures include the Atlantic Ocean and three of the Great Lakes. She also owns several campers, including two vintage campers.
